Single-stream recycling allows a variety of recyclable materials to be collected together in one container—no sorting required at homes or businesses. This convenient method makes it easier for residents and businesses across the Central Texas area to participate in recycling efforts.
Collected materials can be processed through different recycling methods. In closed-loop recycling, an item is reprocessed into the same product—for example, an aluminum can being recycled into a new aluminum can. In open-loop recycling, materials are transformed for different uses, such as turning old tires into new plastic products.
We also incorporate upcycling methods—reusing materials in their existing form for new purposes. For example, discarded lumber is used to create display shelves for our Garden-Ville products, and recycled utility poles are repurposed to construct pole barns.
At Essential Waste Services LLC, we’re committed to innovation in recycling and finding sustainable solutions that benefit both our communities and the environment.
